My Only Friend

These walls around me are my only friend,
With textured white paint and a slanted edge,
In the corner is a door with a lock,
There is never a sound, never a knock,
The white switch by the door can bring darkness or light,
Until the lightbulb in the socket says "goodnight",
Then all you get is darkness until you replace the bulb,
In order to do that you have to be strong and be bold, But you cannot do that until you see your purpose,
And realize your life was never worthless.
