Carbon Steel A105 Flanges
Carbon Steel A105 Flanges have forged carbon steel piping components, i.e., they are used in fittings, flanges, valves, flanges, and similar parts, and in pressure systems at ambient and higher-temperature service conditions. The carbon steel A105 flanges are operated at temperatures ranging from 500 degrees to 550 degrees. It is used in hydrocarbon processing and marine engineering processing. heat exchangers, pump manufacturing, petrochemical plants, valve manufacturing, oil, and gas equipment, nuclear power projects, and so on. There are various types of flanges, such as plate flanges, weld neck flanges, blind flanges, and many more.
Difference Between Cast, Forged, Plate & Rolled SA105 Steel Forged Flanges
For casting, the STM A105n Material is heated until it melts, and then the same is poured into a mold or vessel to give it the desired shape.
Carbon steel A105 flange manufacturers produce their goods under extremely high and precise pressure. Due to forging, the flanges made of the ASTM A105 material have enhanced ductility, fatigue strength, and less surface porosity.
The ASTM A105n plate flange is a circular disk that is welded to the end of the pipe so that it can easily establish a connection with the other pipe.
The rolled SA-105 flange is cut into slats by the middle plate, and then they get rolled up to a round welded joint. It is also processed by a flattening process.
ASTM A105 Material Properties
Only fully killed carbon steel material is used for forging. This material can be in the shape of a bar or in the shape of an ingot to meet various forging requirements. See the image below.

Mechanical Properties of ASTM A105 Materials
To confirm the strength and ductility of the material, tensile tests and hardness tests are performed on the specimen. This specimen is cut out of the sample that is heat-treated along with the final product. In the video below, you can see how the tensile test is performed on the test specimen.
