Need To Know About Aluminium 6061 pipes
The heat-treated aluminium that has been fused with silicon and magnesium is known as 6061 aluminium pipe. This product is widely used in several applications across a wide range of industries. It is simple to weld and machine this grade of alloy. It is 90% machinable and once finished, offers a good finish. When Aluminum 6061 pipes are in the annealed state, cold working can be done with ease. At this point, deep drawing, tapping, cutting, drilling, bending, and stamping should all be done using typical cold working techniques.
The 6061 aluminium Pepe is frequently used for jigs, machine parts, boat components, fasteners, truck components, appliance fittings, camera lens mounts, and electrical fittings. Aluminium made from 6061 can be utilised for heavy-duty structures that require a high level of corrosion resistance and an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.
Strength Of Aluminium 6061 pipes
Forging is an option for this product, and it is advised to carry it out between 750 and 900 degrees Fahrenheit. The recommended temperature range for hot work is between 500 and 700 degrees Fahrenheit.
When solution heat treatment is required, the metal can be completely heated by operating continuously at 990 degrees F. After that, the water should be quenched. This metal needs to be heated to 320 degrees Fahrenheit continuously for 18 hours before air cooling is applied. After eight more hours at 350 degrees F, air cooling comes next.
