904L is a highly alloyed, austenitic stainless steel grade that contains very little carbon. 904L Stainless Steel Pipe alloy now contains copper. As a result, it is extremely resistant to strong reducing acids such as sulfuric acid. Because of the lower carbon content, manufacturing the AISI 904L Welded Pipe to ASTM A312 specifications is easier. Despite the lower carbon content, these pipes could be used for high-temperature applications.
The high nickel content of the ASME SA 312 TP904L alloy allows the pipes to perform exceptionally well even at high temperatures. In addition to being a nonmagnetic alloy, stainless steel 904L pipe has good resistance to stress-related corrosion cracking. The molybdenum content of the alloy reduces the likelihood of crevice corrosion. The ASTM A312 TP904L is most useful for general corrosion applications, but it can also be used in moderate to high-temperature applications.
Important Functions SS 904L Pipes
904L Seamless Pipe is being tested for tensile properties. Every 904L Pipe must be supplied in a heat-treated condition that meets ASTM A312 and must have been heat-treated at the appropriate temperature and with the necessary cooling or testing procedures.
One of the many stainless steel grades that may be bought is SS 904L Pipes & Tubes. A low-carbon austenitic stainless steel with a high alloy content, stainless steel 904L tubes. For handling medium-concentrated sulfuric acid, stainless steel 904L seamless pipes are frequently used in the chemical and petrochemical industries. Welded stainless steel 904L pipes provide excellent resistance to assaults from sulfuric, phosphoric, and acetic acids.
Characteristic of SS 904L Pipes
The stainless steel 904L EFW Pipes' high nickel content makes them resistant to stress corrosion cracking. Non-magnetic stainless steel 904L ERW pipes have outstanding formability, toughness, and weldability. Crevice and stress corrosion cracking are very resistant to Stainless Steel 904L Seamless Tubes. Due to the greater nickel and molybdenum alloying, Stainless Steel 904L Welded Tubes perform better than other austenitic stainless steels.
