On May 19, 2020, CMRT 6.01 and CRT 2.11 were released and made available for download. As of June 2020 iPoint supports the new versions: On iPoint Conflict Minerals CMRT 6.01 and CRT 2.11 are already active. CMRT 6.0 supports the new EU Conflict Minerals Regulation and is recommended by RMI for the current reporting year.
CMRT 6.0 epr support EU Conflict Minerals Regulation
The Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) is created by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) supporting companies to deliver accurate information to their customers about mineral country of origin and the smelters and refiners they use. RMI recommends using version CMRT 5.01 or higher for the May 2020 SEC filing deadlines and CMRT 6.0 for the current reporting year. CMRT 6.0 supports the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, which will become fully into force throughout the EU on 1 January, 2021.
CMRT 6.01 replaces the previous version 5.12
The major changes you will see in CMRT 6.01 include:
- Corrections to all bugs and errors
- Conformance to the May 2019 IPC-1755 amendment
- Additions and clarifications in the instructions and definitions
- Incorporation of EU Conflict Minerals Regulation in the wording of the newly added Question 4 and Question H (formerly I), removal of former Question C on Declaration tab
- Updates to translations for all modified text
- Updates to the Smelter Look-up List and Standard Smelter List
- Corrections to an error reported with the “Product List” tab
- The next version of the CMRT is anticipated to be released in spring 2021.
CRT 2.11 contains updated Smelter Reference List
The Cobalt Reporting Template (CRT) is created by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) supporting companies to identify choke points and collect due diligence information in the cobalt supply chain. The template was formally launched on December 21, 2018.
CRT 2.11 replaces the previous version 2.0 and contains an updated Smelter Reference List, as of 1 May 2020, including Cobalt Crude refiners that are that are considered eligible in the smelter database.
Other major changes you will see in CRT 2.11 include:
- Updated Japanese translation for definition of “Intentionally-added”
- Updates to the Smelter Look-up List and Standard Smelter List and corrected bugs and errors reported with the “Smelter List” tab.
- The next version of the CRT is anticipated to be released in the fall of 2020.
