Stainless Steel 304 Pipe
When certain number of metals were mixed together it led to the procurement of Stainless Steel. The Stainless Steel is actually an alloy and is quite a strong material made up of metals like Chromium, Nickel, Molybdenum, Silicon, Aluminium, and most importantly Carbon are the components of this alloy. Stainless Steel is very strong and effective all because of all the metals, chromium has 10-11% part in SS that gives a gleaming property to the alloy, carbon has 0.03-1.00% part and it provides strength to the steel, Molybdenum, and Nickel together make the SS resistant to corrosion and rust. Stainless Steel has distinct features that make it easy to identify the metal. SS is a very shining alloy which is due to Chromium at a certain ratio. The Stainless Steel is generally stored in the form of pipe, tubes, sheets, plates, bars, rods, etc. All the other metals present in SS make it suitable for the application as it is a durable metal and has accurate dimensions which means that it fits perfectly on the pipes and works just fine. They do not require regular maintenance and are relatively light in weight which makes it optimum to be used in Industries and Factories.
Being a grade of Stainless Steel the grade 304 is also combined of some metals altogether. The grade 304 of the alloy has great strength which is why it is used universally. The alloy is prepared of many metals like Iron, Carbon, Chromium, Nickel, Molybdenum, etc. every metal present in Stainless Steel is at certain proportion and that plays a significant role. Chromium which is present most in the SS 304 between 18.00-20.00% gives it a lustrous quality, Carbon is the maximum at 0.8 % which makes the alloy stronger and Nickel and Molybdenum makes SS 304 resistant to corrosion. A pipe is simply a long continuous section of metal which is hollowed from within and a particular thickness is maintained that gives the pipe its strength. A pipe is used universally for conveying any substance from place to place.
Applications of Stainless Steel 304 Pipe
The usual application of SS 304 pipe is in Aircraft exhaust stacks, Welded equipment, Manifolds, Chemical Processing equipment, Jet engine parts, etc. Industries like Food and Beverage depend on Stainless Steel a lot for its property of preventing any leakage and contamination, this industry also uses stainless steel vessels for storing the products but all of it needs to be washed regularly because sanitation is a prime consideration in the food and beverage and medical device industries. Now the aerospace industry uses stainless steel pipe for supplying the fuels and gas. Some major industries that regularly use stainless steel pipes are Textile Machinery, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Dairy and Food Processing, Power Plants, Pesticides, Construction, Modern Architecture, Pharmaceuticals, Sugar, Oil and Gas Processing, Water treatment facilities, Desalination, Synthetic Fibers, Pulp and Paper, Breweries, Ship Building, Refinery & Petrochemicals, Energy industries, etc. As you can see, Stainless steel pipe applications are huge and have become a natural option for heat and corrosion resistant metal.
