The bomber jacket has become a permanent fixture in the lives of many girls. This jacket is very elegant and sophisticated. It got its name from the American pilots who wore it in the last century. This jacket model has become quite popular, and many designers have made it fashionable, as well as decorated it with various details and prints.
A similar jacket can be purchased in any boutique. The bomber is a favorite of many fashionistas. The product will perfectly warm you in cool weather of the off-season, and for winter there are insulated options with a warm lining.
Bomber - what is it?
A women's bomber is a short nylon jacket with thick elastic at the waist and cuffs. Styling with a bomber is a good idea if you care about comfort, but still do not want to sacrifice a stylish appearance.
There are a number of other differences that the modern women's bomber jacket inherited from its distant ancestors - the pilot-style leather jackets.
The main detail of this jacket is its versatility. Currently, stylish jackets are created in trendy colors, with various prints.
Bomber jacket - history of its appearance
Previously, a bomber jacket was the name given to voluminous and rather heavy leather sheepskin coats created specifically for bombers and pilots.
The classic bomber jacket is the MA-1 model - a light, short nylon jacket with thick elastic at the waist and cuffs. These jackets are distinguished by their knitted collar, orange lining, pocket on the sleeve, and color - sage green or dark blue.
The MA-1 models acquired a bright orange lining in 1963, when such jackets were worn only by the American military. In the event of an ejection from the cockpit or an emergency landing, the pilot who landed on the ground turned the jacket inside out, thereby making it easier for air rescuers to search for themselves.
In the 1990s, designers Giorgio Armani and minimalist Helmut Lang drew attention to the classic style of the flight jacket. A little later, the bomber jacket was introduced to high society as part of his debut (!) collection by designer and former creative director of Christian Dior Raf Simons.
Since then, bomber jackets have taken up residence on the catwalks, and their rather far from classic variations can be seen in the collections of both budget brands - H&M, Zara, Stradivarius or Supreme, and terribly expensive ones, such as, say, Alexander McQueen, Kenzo and even Chanel.
Moreover, as soon as women started wearing bomber jackets, all that was left of the classic version were horns and legs, and at most elastic bands on the waist and cuffs. Bomber jackets are now made of suede, denim, wool and silk. Color blocks and other prints appeared on bombers - floral, animalistic, abstract, in general, pretty and girly.
What types of bomber jackets are there?
Designers never cease to amaze fashionistas with original models of sports jackets. Design and style change greatly, and sometimes it is difficult to distinguish a bomber from a cardigan or jacket. Let's name a few successful solutions for a basic wardrobe:
Off-season. They will reliably protect against bad weather and temperature fluctuations. Such jackets are characterized by the presence of a fleece or synthetic padding lining. The lining can be removable in case of warmer weather.
Summer. If initially thick and warm materials were used to make jackets, now you can find their lighter variations. Designers sew jackets from lace, silk, cotton. Most often, these are light windbreakers that can be worn on cool summer evenings. The cut is classic, but there is a wide variety of colors and prints.
Winter. Insulated options, which include a warm fur lining. The material for the jacket itself is leather. You can wear it in any weather and not be afraid of the cold. Sometimes a warm hood is used as an addition.
There are different types of bomber jackets, complemented by various details. Sheepskin coat (using sheepskin wool, classic shades). Coat (long version, the length can reach the knee). Sports, with a hood, jacket, military (using camouflage print or khaki color), quilted (sometimes complemented by leather sleeves).
