Situated in the foothills of the Dhauladhar Ranges of the Greater Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh, boasting beautiful sceneries and thrilling adventurous interface zones has to bottle some of the most beautiful trekking tours in India. Another famous trek is the Hampta Pass Trek which normally takes 5-6 days to accomplish and is of moderate difficulty. This trek begins from Manali and goes up to Kullu and Lahaul Valleys, rich meadows of Pir Panjal, and the splendid Chandratal Lake. Some of them are Chika which has lush green meadows and Rani Nallah stream, Balu ka Ghera, and of course Hampta Pass to capture the best view of valleys of lahaul. It is best to visit from June to September as the temperatures are moderate and the electricity is rarely rationed because the hydro power dams are enough to provide the country with power.
Triund Trek : For those who are interested in a relatively short and easy trek, the ideal one is The Triund Trek which will take 1 – 2 days. This type of transportation begins from McLeod Ganj with the vantage views of the Dhauladhar range and the Kangra Valley. On the way there are beautiful sights including the Bhagsu Waterfall, while there are places where you can get something to eat and drink like the Magic View Café. The favourable time for this trek is from March to June and again from September to December.
Beas Kund Trek : The Beas Kund Trek is another good one; it takes 3 to 4 days to complete it. You can hitch a ride from Manali to Dhundi and then trek up to Beas Kund. This trek starting from Solang Valley to Beas Kund is an easy to moderate trek, ending at the location where River Beas originates, that is, Beas Kund Tal. There are few attractions like Dhundi and Bakarthach which provide the mesmerising view of Pir Panjal range. It is best to travel during late May up to October.
Pin Parvati Pass : On duration, it takes 10-11 days for the more experienced trekkers and the Pin Parvati Pass Trek is the way to go about it. Beginning from Kullu, this tough trek offers ample greenery, colourful villages & Tosh Valley, beautiful Mantalai Lake & wildlife of Pin Valley National Park. This trek can best be done from July to September.
Kheerganga Trek : One of the easy treks that are preferred by most of the first-time trekkers is the Kheerganga Trek which may take around 2-3 days. Beginning from Barshaini, these easy treks include hot water springs at Kheerganga, colourful backpacker town Kasol, and Rudra Nag Waterfall. The best time to visit is during May to November.
Bhrigu Lake Trek: The fourth trek of moderate level can take 3-4 days and is the Bhrigu Lake Trek. From Gulaba it moves to the alpine Bhrigu Lake which is coloured with the change of seasons and glaciers on all sides. There are several attractions like Rola Kholi, beautiful scenic, and other ranges of Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar also. It recommended that one visits this place during the period of May to October.
Chandrakhani Pass : The trek of Chandrakhani Pass takes four to five days and it is a moderate trekking route starting from Naggar. This extension covers the visit to the village of Malana, specially famous for its way of life and the view of Deo Tibba, Pir Panjal and Parvati ranges from Chandrakhani Pass. Skansen, located in Naggar, is a castle that was constructed a long time ago and has recently turned into a heritage hotel. The recommended time to visit is between May, June, July, August, September, and October.
Indrahar Pass : The Indrahar Pass Trek which is comparatively harder lasts for 4 – 5 days and begins from McLeod Ganj. It also contains the climbs to Triund, Laka Got and the Indrahar Pass from where one has a bird's eye view of the Dhauladhar range and the plains of India. Ideally the best period is from May through to October.
Sar Pass Trek : The Sar Pass Trek takes 6-7 days and starts from Kasol. It includes charming villages like Grahan, stunning views from the Min Thach campsite, and the snow-covered Sar Pass with its beautiful panoramic views. The best time to visit is from May to June and September to October.
