History of Mantralayama Temple

The temple is dedicated to the coach Raghwendra Swamy who is a follower of Lord Vishnu and  is best known for his meditation for 12 years during the 16th Century. Repercussions are, Lord Hanuman gave darshan to him with his five faces, so the place is also called Panchmukhi. As the story states his wife who wished to see him one last time before becoming a saint, fell in a well and died. Later she becomes a ghost and follows them as her wish remains unsatisfied. As he felt her wife’s presence, sparkled the magical holy water on her to get rid of the spirit.

Several Hindu festivals are celebrated here including Dahanurmasha Month, Maharathostavam, and Sri Gururu Raghwendra Swamy Aradhanostavam.
