What Is StabiliTrak? StabiliTrak uses a network of sensors to monitor driver input and vehicle behaviour. This includes tracking the wheel speed, steering angle, and yaw rate. When discrepancies are recognised, such as a mismatch between steering direction and vehicle movement, StabiliTrak intervenes, either by applying brakes to specific wheels or limiting engine torque to assist the vehicle in restoring equilibrium. The introduction of StabiliTrak has transformed road safety. It considerably lowers the likelihood of rollovers and loss of control situations. This technique is especially useful on wet, slippery, or uneven conditions, where maintaining grip and control can be difficult even for experienced drivers. StabiliTrak operates immediately when the system detects instability or imminent skidding. Drivers may observe the StabiliTrak warning light on their dashboard during activation, indicating that the system is attempting to correct the vehicle's trajectory. It is intended to act before the driver loses complete control of the vehicle.
