Islam, one of the world’s major religions, is followed by over two billion people globally. Its teachings, history, and traditions have shaped civilizations and continue to guide millions in their spiritual and everyday lives. This blog explores the rich tapestry of Islam, from its origins to its role in the modern world. Islam was founded in the 7th century CE in the Arabian Peninsula. It emerged in a time of tribal conflict and societal inequalities. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), born in Mecca in 570 CE, received revelations from Allah (God) through the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) at the age of 40. These revelations, compiled into the Qur’an, form the holy book of Islam.
The Prophet's message emphasized monotheism, compassion, and social justice. Despite initial resistance, Islam gained followers, leading to the establishment of a united Muslim community, or Ummah, in Medina. From there, Islam spread rapidly across the Arabian Peninsula and beyond, fueled by its universal message and the charisma of its founder.
