ADVANTAGES

Mapeplast RP reduces the water/cement ratio with excellent improvements in the fresh and hardened concrete properties. It is specically designed for meeting all the specications required in high slag content mixes. 

AREA OF USES

Mapeplast RP can be used in all concretes to increase workability and/ or to reduce the amount of water added. If you require high early strength, it is recommended that you use one of Mapei’s plasticising or superplasticising, non-retarding admixtures.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Mapeplast RP breaks up cement clusters. This dispersing effect can in principle be used in three ways:

. to reduce the quantity of water added, whilst maintaining the concrete’s workability, thereby increasing the strength, density, and durability of the concrete (lower water/ cement ratio).

. to improve the workability compared to normal concrete that otherwise has good properties (strength, water tightness, durability), but is difficult to pour (same water/ cement ratio). Increased slump makes pouring easier and reduces the need to work the concrete (vibration).

. to reduce both the water and cement quantities so that the water/ cement ratio (the relationship between water and total cementitious material) remains the same. The concrete’s inherent good qualities strength, density, and durability) can thereby be retained. There are many benefits: lower costs (less cement), less risk of shrinkage (less water), and less risk of temperature stress on account of less heat generation during hydration (less cement). One is usually aiming for a combination of several of these effects.

STORAGE

Mapeplast RP must be stored at temperatures between +8 and +35°C and can be stored for 12 months in closed containers. Protect from water, frost, and direct sunlight.
