PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

When, in my early forties, I stepped into hot yoga for the first time, my life was in turmoil. With self-confidence at an all-time low and personal relationships suffering, I decided to try a class after hearing about it from a friend. When I left the studio that first night, it was with the certainty that something in my life had to change. That was the first time I had taken a good, clean, deep breath in as long as I could remember.
Those winter classes were a time of honest self-evaluation, and when spring finally came, I took the next step and took up biking. And from there, the road ahead of me opened up.
Life looks a lot different nowadays. Head held high, personal relationships restored, I am enjoying pastimes I would have never considered had it not been for my decision to try hot yoga. Life didn’t change overnight, but this ongoing adventure in self-improvement has proven to me that Lao Tzu was indeed right about the journey of a thousand miles. It really does begin with a single step.
