The Multicultural Film Festival is an annual event that takes place in July. The festival was founded by Daryle Dennard and held its first event in 2009 at the historic Royal Theater in downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota. The goal of the festival is to bring together people from around the world who share a passion for film and storytelling by showcasing new works from diverse artists from around the globe as well as providing opportunities for emerging talent to showcase their work in front of industry professionals who are seeking new talent.
Each year we host screenings of short films made by emerging filmmakers from across America as well as feature screenings of web series produced by established producers with deep roots within our community who want to show their work on a big screen but don't have access because they don't live near Hollywood or New York City where most film festivals take place every year (and even then).
The Micheaux Film Festival is a celebration of African Americans' lives, stories, and achievements in the United States and worldwide. It's named after Oscar Micheaux, the first African American filmmaker and author.
