Vengeance Price
What is it then,
If as you say,
Vengeance it is not the way,
What force or altruistic being,
Shall come this very day,
To take the pain of hurt away,
Satisfaction sought,
Though not guaranteed,
Is that not the right given unto me,
To feel the breadth and sorted depth,
Of my wretched pain,
Emminating with souls regret,
From my self made enemy,
If it is as you say that vengeance is never the way,
Why then so many times before,
Have I been the one the Vengeance borne,
How is it that you proclaim,
It is you swear a different game,
The tragic loss of happiness,
And of gain,
Why then for me the rules have changed,
The need I feel to satiate ,
Grows and grows and becomes hate,
As all is fair in love and war,
Is this not a righteous tour,
With knights and generals and dragons breath,
And fighting men to fight till death,
You ask of me to remind you what was this deed that was done,
Done say nay,
The deed which was inflicted callously upon me,
With such disdain and villous shame the curse that was laid upon my precious name,
Then here you are the sorted tale,
So listen well and listen fast,
I walked along a beaten path my eyes turned to the sky to grasp,
A cloud whose shape could only be,
A self portrait of my future love and me,
As I trod along imagined majestic path,
I stumbled skipped until I fell at last,
Without regard for how I faired,
Or even the simplest of care,
This my enemy,
Shouted out to me,
A fool or even idiot knows its best to be, Smarter than the simpleton who doesn't know to watch his feet.
This was of course called aloud,
Just for benefit of crowd,
I know that you are future me,
But cannot I confess,
Understand how could you then say to let this pass,
For is this abismal embarrassment,
Not the worst that is yet to be.
I know it is without a doubt,
The worst till now to happen unto me,
How then would you dare at all,
Even speak the words,
Or dare to insenuate the faintest possibility,
That my one true enemy is even now or ever could atest to be,
My loyal and my closest friend through all eternity.
Are you certain then,
The portrait I was so enthralled to see,
Was my now enemy and future version of me,
You tell me that this all is true,
And what is meant to be,
Only if I can learn that love,
Not vengeance is the key.
