PASSIONS

I’ve heard it said that technology kills creativity.
With a world full of distraction available at the click of a mouse, there is less opportunity for boredom to flourish. Boredom is the driving force in many of my more creative endeavours, but sometimes I find sitting still long enough for creative ideas to flourish difficult when my attention is constantly diverted. I must, however, disagree with the notion that personal creativity has been affected to the point of concern.
Had it not been for the Internet, this ravenous curiosity for spice and exotic ingredients would never be so well fed. The bundle of money left unspent on chord charts and song books is thanks to the many sites online that provide instruction for free. And although Social Media has a bewitching knack for stealing hours of my life, it also provides a platform on which part of my creative energy is shared through blogging and collaboration.
Technology is just that – technology. What I do with it is up to me, and I choose to create.
