Corrosion resistance
The environment in which Stainless Steel 321 Pipe products are installed is essential. The primary considerations are atmospheric conditions, concentration levels of certain chemicals such as chlorides, and the presence of acids. In a low corrosive environment, austenitic stainless steel general purpose 303 or 304 is sufficient.
Heat-resistant

Cryogenic resistance
Very low (cryogenic) temperatures are another factor. Austenitic stainless steel 347h pipe retains tensile strength above room temperature, so it can be used effectively even at shallow temperatures. Magnetic response

Required strength

Product form

Austenitic stainless steels are extremely versatile, and within this wide range, you can find all product forms of various dimensions. Ferrite steels are the most common in sheet form, and martens tic steels are more commonly found as solid rods.
Special requirements
When installing stainless steel products, there may be special requirements to change the required steel grade. In addition to the basic considerations of temperature, corrosion, and resistance, if the steel requires completely non-magnetic properties, if you need a product that is particularly suitable for welding or highly formable, or just special Aesthetic effects may be required.
Cost
Of course, the cost is always a factor and should be balanced with all other considerations. The best technical options can be too high, but be sure to evaluate costs based on the life cycle, not just the initial price. High-quality steels with high initial costs are often justified on this basis, as 317L stainless steel pipe products tend to have long shelf lives.
