Ambati Rayudu Warns Critics to Not Count Out MI: Mumbai Indians may have lost a thriller yesterday, but former Indian player Ambati Rayudu is nothing but optimistic about the franchise. Rayudu believes there are tons of positive takeaways from the match.
In the match that saw a record total, Mumbai Indians fell short by 36 runs, chasing a humongous total of 277 by Sunrisers Hyderabad. On a pitch that was excessively supportive of batters, the difference-makers were SRH bowlers in the middle and later overs.
Although MI were outclassed by Pat Cummins and Co. in every angle of the game, Rayudu thinks there are things that MI should be happy about. The comparatively narrow defeat margin, even though SRH had built a mammoth score, seems positive for the former Indian international. Rayudu also says that Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan’s form will be a plus for MI in the upcoming battles.
“Mumbai will not be disappointed, as they conceded just two points. The defeat margin was also only 31, despite a massive total by SRH. They should feel happy about it. There are a lot of positives from the game. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan’s form will help them in the upcoming matches. Tilak Varma looked good, while Tim David played an attacking knock,” Rayudu said on Star Sports.
Rayudu also doesn’t believe that Mumbai would panic despite the two losses in a row. It will be more like a meeting for further improvements, according to the former Mumbai and Chennai man.
“A lot of people think that Mumbai will panic and long meetings will be held, but that’s not the case with the top franchise. They will discuss the areas that need improvement and will move on to the next game,” he added.
Ambati Rayudu Warns Critics to Not Count Out MI
Rayudu also warns critics not to count out the five-time champions. He certainly believes that MI will return stronger in the upcoming matches.
“Mumbai Indians will come back stronger in the remaining part of the Indian Premier League. It is one franchise that has a habit of scripting comebacks in the tournament. We have seen it in the past as well. I think they will start winning matches soon.”
