I spent hours compiling a playlist that would narrate that summer.

Lyrics I would ink myself if you only gave the word.

I was yours, and you knew I was when we drove off in the night.

The music played for hours, but it was only you I heard.

I never felt so certain, I never fell so far, our future was just starting but I’ve known you all my life.

We were breathing for each other, you were pumping through my veins, but never were we ever on the edge of someone’s knife.

But we were sharp, it was a slice and we couldn’t get enough of the summer, of each other, of the romance, of this life we started with each other never looking back at the insignificance of history and the edge of someone’s knife.

We were kids, just being kids and soaking up every word we whispered to each other, because it was only you I heard.
