We were both trapped
In our own abyss,
Yours was yours; mine was mine,
Nothing of this world did we miss.
Slowly escaping from your dark,
You furiously searched in mine, for me;
Reaching down into my endless pain,
Your hand delivered love, tenderly.
I argued and fought, not to leave;
You gave my dark, reason, to fade away;
I pulled at my curtain of darkness
And I hoped my pain would stay.
Your warm heart dried my tears,
Your loving hand killed my fears;
With your strong encouraging rope,
You brought me into the light of hope.
