Dancing in Raindrops

Storm after storm,

It seemed the rain would never cease.

Stuck inside,

Just wanting to be free.

Thunder so loud,

she would duck for cover

And cry out in fear.

Lightning so bright,

It brought nothing but flashes of pain and tears.

Until there was a knock on the door

And outside a red umbrella.

A note attached read,

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,

It’s learning to dance in the rain.”

Smiling,

A stranger calling from a car,

“Can I have this dance?”

Barefoot with the umbrella,

She ran him.

They danced,

And hugged.

And kissed.

Finally,

The weather she longed for to pass,

Was her favorite memory.
