Wedding disasters happen to almost every couple, but not all newlyweds know how to quickly find a solution to problems. Check if you and your fiancé are ready for the unexpected. In this article, we have gathered seven wedding disasters and how to solve them.
1. Changes in the contracts
Perhaps, even at the first stage of preparation, you signed contracts with providers, and when all these changes appeared, there was no time to make changes. Indeed, discussing all issues over the phone is faster and more convenient. But what if the contractor forgets about new agreements?
Try to adhere to the conditions that you agreed upon initially. If you can’t do without editing, make sure that each new decision is confirmed at least by e-mail. No need for complex formulations, fix only the main changes. Keep printed copies of all messages in a separate folder - they will be useful in case of disputes.
2. Uninvited guests
This is the most common misunderstanding at a wedding. Don't let them ruin your holiday. If there is no coordinator at your wedding, ask one of the guests to ask the chefs or the site manager if it is possible to supply an additional portion and take out another chair.
3. Inappropriate toasts
Too long toasts from relatives or inappropriate jokes from the groom's friends can happen at any wedding. Talk to the guests who will be toasting ahead of time about what is okay to mention and what is not acceptable to say.
And remember that a good toast should be short and to the point. If you're not sure about someone, give them the floor first. In the worst case, ask the host to immediately take the microphone from the unfortunate speaker.
4. Wrong lighting
Did you think that the guests would enjoy a beautiful sunset, but instead everyone has to squint at the sun? Or the romantic glow of candles can resemble the twilight of a dungeon and makes wedding photography dull and dark.
When creating lighting, you need to consider everything. The season, the time of day, and even the color of the curtains. Before inviting guests, have at least one dress rehearsal. And don't forget that candles tend to melt.
5. Illiterate logistics
It's time to take seats at the wedding table, and half of the guests are still not there - they did not have time to get to the restaurant after the ceremony. If the ceremony and banquet are planned in different places, arrange transportation for guests. If it is not possible to foresee all directions, give guests a map with clear instructions and locations.
6. Flowers wilted before the end of the holiday
In fact, it happens a lot more often than you think. Especially if your wedding day is hot. When choosing flowers for a wedding, be guided not only by their beauty but also by endurance. Flowers with hard petals last longer, so instead of delicate lilies of the valley and tulips, order sunflowers or gerberas. On the day of the wedding, the vases should be washed well before placing the flowers in them, and the bouquets should be placed away from heat sources.
7. Too much alcohol
Any fun wedding at the end of the evening can be overshadowed by a guest who drank a little too much. Ask one of the relatives to take them to a separate room. And don’t forget to take care of delivering the guest home since in no case should anyone present at the wedding be allowed to drive while intoxicated.
