A BANGLADESH bank affirmed last Saturday (17) it removed Nobel Harmony prize victor Muhammad Yunus from two organizations he established, weeks after his conviction in a crook case his allies say was politically roused.
Yunus, 83, is credited with lifting millions out of destitution with his spearheading microlender Grameen Bank, however has acquired the animosity of long-term head of the state Sheik Hasina, who has blamed him for "sucking blood" from poor people.
Hasina's administration constrained Yunus' acquiescence from the bank in 2011, passing on him to focus on running many antipoverty firms he has established.
The bank's ongoing government-delegated administrator said last Saturday its board had assigned new chiefs for no less than two endeavors still under Yunus' influence.
