What is Oppositional Defiant Disorder and how can I manage my child's behavior? Signs and Symptoms of Oppositional Defiant Disorder in children can become noticeable before they turn 8-years old. These types of behaviors can come out while interacting with someone the child knows well, such as a teacher or family member. Behaviors happen frequently and are usually not common in other children around the same age group. They can cause significant issues at school, at home, or around other children. Signs often include: frequent arguments with adults or refusing to comply with rules, loss of temper, being resentful or vindictive, easily becoming annoying with others or purposely annoying others, and blaming others for one’s own misbehavior.
If your child exhibits behaviors associated with Oppositional Defiant Disorder or is unable to regulate his or her emotions in an age-appropriate way, we invite you to consider The Brain Balance Program. Parents saw a 43% improvement, on average, in their child’s behavior following the completion of the Brain Balance program*.
