Rings softly in my ears.

Is all that I can hear.

I stand and look through panes of glass

And see just empty space

Except for cars that rush on by

As if they’re in a race.

So is it true, these timeless words,

Or do they all but lie?

The only way to really know

Is find a neighbour and say Hi

And then you ask without a thought,

Will you be my neighbour?

And then you hope that they agree and

Their answer does not waiver

So on this quest I set out to find

This legendary neighbourhood

And as I do I surely find

It’s right underneath my foot.

All it takes is a little effort

A small step out in faith

And once you start to look for it

It will smack you in the face
