I would like to tell you briefly about my London experience and how my love for this beautiful city was born.
London has always been in my dreams and when I had the opportunity to visit it I jumped at the ball. I took advantage of a university scholarship to do a 3 week English course.
As soon as I arrived I realized that I should have booked luggage storage in London before leaving, but what impressed me most was the speed.
Everything was faster than our Mediterranean canons. Everything was movement: buses and cars whizzing in all directions and above all on the opposite side from the Italian one, with great risk for the safety of distracted people like me.
People ran as if they were being chased by someone and were chasing other people themselves. I was able to easily distinguish tourists from Londoners, precisely by the different speed of their movements. And in London if you want to be fast you must have stored your luggage somewhere safe.
People seemed wonderful to me, in their diversity. I felt like I was in a movie or a book; thousands of different characters playing a role in that society full of frenetic energy. We met new people every day and becoming friends was easy, united by the fact that all of us foreigners were far from home and from our loved ones. I spent a wonderful Christmas, under the snow, with Christmas carols, lights, demonstrations and events in every corner of the city. That's when London became more than a dream for me.
It was a love at first sight that has lasted for 2 years without ever giving up or hesitation. A city rich in history and culture, multiracial and open to innovation. City of fashion and new trends. The best music combined with the multiform artistic variety that can be admired everywhere.
London offers the possibility to work and integrate in the best way. It gives the opportunity to make a career on merit and to be helped in times of difficulty. It is a city that offers every day the possibility of reinventing oneself and starting a new adventure from scratch.
London is marvelous in its many guises.
