Under Rajasthan Budget 2023 Ujjwala Yojana : Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who is also the state’s Finance Minister, presented the Budget 2023 in the Assembly today. But the assembly had to be adjourned for half an hour as he mistakenly read out the state’s old budget speech and paused only after seven minutes when the chief whip interrupted him.
However, on the resumption of the assembly, the Chief Minister apologized for the disturbance and presented the new budget announcing several welfare schemes for the people of the state. He also announced a dearness relief package of Rs 19,000 crore.
A look at some of the major budget announcements made by the Gehlot government.
- The medical cover under the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme has been increased from Rs 10 lakh per family per year to Rs 25 lakh per year.
- Around 1 crore families covered under the National Food Security Act will get free ration and free packets of Mukhyamantri Annapurna food every month
- One time registration required for appearing in competitive examinations; No Multiple Fees will be charged
- Consumers of Ujjwala Yojana will get LPG cylinder for Rs 500, which will benefit 76 lakh people of the state. Plan to spend Rs 1,500 crore on the state exchequer
- 100 “Job Fairs” to be organized to provide opportunities to the youth
- 5 thousand rupees will be given to women to buy sewing machine
- Rajiv Gandhi Aviation will open in the state capital Jaipur
- Research scholars will get Rs 30,000 as government help
- Students will be able to travel up to 75 kilometers free of cost in government buses
- Government will give electric two wheeler to girl students
- Vivekananda Youth Hostels will be established in each district of the state.
- Digital library will be built at block level
- Vishwakarma Kamgar Kalyan Yojana has been proposed in the budget
