(Note: Don't be too optimistic! Some students can raise their SAT score by more than 200 points; find out whether that applies to you once you've begun studying.)
5. Set a target score based on your diagnostic findings and the presumption that you can raise it by following step 4's instructions.
6. Compare the ranges of your target schools with your desired score. You should include a few schools on your list where you are below range (reach schools), a few where you are over range (target schools), and several where you are in range. Depending on the averages and specific policies of each school, decide whether you should submit test results.
