Applications of 321 Stainless Steel Bolt
DC Engineering is one of the leading producers of stainless steel 321 fasteners ranging in length from M6 to M100. We specialise in the manufacture and distribution of 321 Stainless Steel Hex Nuts, 321 Stainless Steel Hex Head Bolts, 321 Stainless Steel Threaded Rods, 321 Stainless Steel Washers, and 321 Stainless Steel Bolts.
Stainless Steel 321 is an austenitic 18/8 steel (Grade 304) that has been stabilised by the addition of titanium (321). After heating in the carbide precipitation temperature range of 425-850 degrees Celsius, SS 321 is not susceptible to intergranular corrosion. Stainless Steel 321 is the preferred grade for use at temperatures up to 900°C, as it combines high strength, resistance to scaling, and phase stability with resistance to subsequent aqueous corrosion. SS 321H is a modification of SS 321 with an increased carbon composition for enhanced high temperature.
strength of 321 Stainless Steel Bolt
In the presence of chloride ion, the resistance of the alloy of Stainless Steel 321 Nuts is comparable to that of fasteners of the 304 grade or Type 304L. In applications involving crevices, 100 ppm chloride in aqueous environments is regarded to be the limit for both stabilised and unsterilized alloys, such as 321 SS Stud Bolt. In excess of 100 ppm (parts per million) of chloride ion can induce either crevice corrosion or pitting.
