Stainless Steel and 304
When metals like Chromium, Carbon, Nickel, Molybdenum, Silicon, Aluminium, etc. are mixed together Stainless Steel is formed. The Stainless Steel is a strength-full alloy and good at resisting corrosion. Stainless Steel is very strong and effective all because of all the metals, chromium has 10-11% part in SS that gives a gleaming property to the alloy, carbon has 0.03-1.00% part and it provides strength to the steel, Molybdenum, and Nickel together make the SS resistant to corrosion and rust. Stainless Steel has distinct features that make it easy to identify the metal. SS is a very shining alloy which is due to Chromium at a certain ratio. The Stainless Steel is generally stored in the form of pipe, tubes, sheets, plates, bars, rods, etc. All the other metals present in SS make it suitable for the application as it is a durable metal and has accurate dimensions which means that it fits perfectly on the pipes and works just fine. They do not require regular maintenance and are relatively light in weight which makes it optimum to be used in Industries and Factories.
Similar to SS 304H Seamless Pipes is a grade of it and consisting all the components of the alloy. Stainless Steel is very much renowned for its strong feature and is always preferred for its efficient immunity. The alloy is prepared of many metals like Iron, Carbon, Chromium, Nickel, Molybdenum, etc. every metal present in Stainless Steel is at certain proportion and that plays a significant role. Chromium which is present most in the SS 304 between 18.00-20.00% gives it a lustrous quality, Carbon is the maximum at 0.8 % which makes the alloy stronger and Nickel and Molybdenum makes SS 304 resistant to corrosion.
Pipes and Tubes
The Pipes and Tubes are used f or the same reason and have same appearance however there are differences. A pipe be it any length or diameter would necessarily be circular in shape which is also the case with a tube but the tubes are also manufactured in shapes like square, rectangle, and oval. Tubes are many a times welded and so is pipe but a seamless pipe is used universally. The pipes and tubes made up of stainless steel 304 are of course a good choice because they are generally stronger and very good at resisting corrosion and rust.
Applications
The very usual application of stainless steel 304 pipes and tubes are done in Aircraft exhaust stacks, Welded equipment, Manifolds, Chemical Processing equipment, Jet engine parts, etc. Industries like Food and Beverage depend on Stainless Steel a lot for its property of preventing any leakage and contamination, this industry also uses stainless steel vessels for storing the products but all of it needs to be washed regularly because sanitation is a prime consideration in the food and beverage and medical device industries. Architecture, Pharmaceuticals, Sugar, Oil and Gas Processing, Water treatment facilities, Desalination, Synthetic Fibers, Pulp and Paper, Breweries, As you can see, Stainless steel pipe applications are huge and have become a natural option for heat and corrosion resistant metal.
