STAFFORD, Va. – DAVIS Construction has hired Commercial Window Shield for a window film installation project for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
project involves the installation of a radio frequency [RF] shielding film that includes a blast mitigation component resulting in shatter-resistant windows. DAVIS will be undertaking a complete renovation of one floor of a building occupied by the Corps. The spec calls for the installation of the combination RF/blast mitigation film on all the exterior windows on the floor.
Additionally, Commercial Window Film installers will add a bead of structural silicone to the RF/blast mitigation film to anchor it to the window frames.
The window film installation component of the buildout is expected to begin in spring, 2024. Commercial Window Shield will work closely with other DAVIS contractors to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Commercial Window Shield has completed other window film installation projects for the Corps, most of them involving the installation of fragment retention window film to elevate the security of the buildings in which the Corps are a tenant.
