Hey there, adventure seekers! Today, I want to tell you about my incredible journey to Makalu Base Camp in Nepal. This trek is less crowded than some others, which makes it extra special.
Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world, and trekking to its base camp is a real adventure. The trek starts from a small town called Tumlingtar. From there, we began our walk through beautiful forests and small villages.
As we went higher, the scenery changed. We saw huge rhododendron forests with colorful flowers. The path sometimes goes up steep hills, but the views make you forget how tired you are!
We crossed rivers on suspension bridges and walked through valleys with amazing mountain views. The local Sherpa people we met along the way were so kind and welcoming.
The best part was reaching Makalu Base Camp. We were surrounded by giant mountains, including Makalu itself. The view was incredible – it felt like we were on top of the world!
The trek usually takes about 18-20 days, which is longer than some other treks. We had to be careful about the altitude and take it slow. But the longer journey means you get to see more of Nepal's beautiful nature.
At night, we stayed in tents or basic lodges. It was chilly, but sleeping bags kept us warm. We ate simple but tasty food, often prepared by our helpful guides.
If you love nature and want to see a less touristy part of Nepal, the Makalu Base Camp Trek is perfect. It's challenging but so rewarding!
Remember to pack warm clothes, good hiking boots, and a camera. And most importantly, bring your sense of adventure and enjoy every moment of this amazing journey!
