I don’t know if you’ve seen any of these Artificial Intelligence short form videos that have been coming out, but some of them are a bit “off.”
Someone I follow the other day put out his first AI reel, and to be honest, it just didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It was his first attempt, and I’m sure that AI gets smarter and better at it the more it does it; however, this reel looked very artificial.
I’m definitely not against technology, and I believe that AI can have some incredible benefits for us if we use it wisely. At the same time, I really wish that people would still just be people. We don’t need AI making up videos that are pretending to be us - why can’t we do that ourselves.
Using AI for everything removes the humanity and thought out of so many aspects of life if we use it that way.
I don’t want to watch videos that simulate an actual person that I know - I want to watch the actual person and hear what they think from their own mouth.
Maybe I’m just old fashioned, or maybe I’ll get used to it. For now, I think we should keep what makes us people! We have the ability to think, feel, and act in a way that AI will never truly be able to emulate. So let’s let AI do the jobs that don’t take away our humanity, but that rather do the computing type of work.
