17-4 PH is a precipitation hardening Martensitic Stainless Steel with Chromium, Nickel, and Copper. Depending on the precipitation or aging temperature used in hardening, 17-4PH Stainless Steel can achieve a wide variety of strength and toughness qualities. Its unique combination of high strength, corrosion resistance, and toughness in both base metals and welds allow designers to improve product reliability while simplifying manufacturing and lowering costs. The high strength is maintained up to 600°F (316°C). In lower strength settings, this material has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Stainless Steel 17-4 PH Plates & Sheets is recognized for its ability to ease fabrication and manufacturing processes, which can save time and money. This PH stainless steel is used by engineers all around the world to solve logistical challenges in product design, manufacturing, and processing. Cu and Nb / Cb additions make Alloy 17-4PH a precipitation hardening martensitic stainless steel. High strength, hardness (up to 572°F/300°C), and corrosion resistance are all features of this grade. Heat treatment can be used to improve mechanical qualities. It is possible to reach yield strengths of up to 1100-1300 MPa (160-190 ksi).
