What is the Super Duplex S32760 Plate?
Super Duplex S32760 Plate is a super duplex steel alloy that contains about 40 to 50 percent ferrite in the annealed state. This super duplex grade offers a high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and ease of working. Compared to austenitic stainless steel, UNS S32760 contains only four to eight percent nickel. This allows it to withstand high temperatures and is an excellent choice for applications requiring high strength.
As part of the ASTM A240 standard, Super Duplex S32760 Plate is also available in a variety of grades, including the No. 8 grade, black/white, and mirror finish. It is commonly used in automobile components, and high-stress rotors and spools. The primary use of Super Duplex UNS S32760 Checkered Plate is in cargo tanks. This steel is available in cold and hot rolled conditions. Super Duplex Steel S32760 Sheets, Coils, and Shim Sheets are available for sale.
Benefits of Super Duplex S32760 Plate
As the name suggests, the Super Duplex S32760 plate has an austenitic-ferritic microstructure with a content of 40-50% ferrite. As a result, it exhibits the combined benefits of high strength and corrosion resistance of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels. This super duplex grade is especially suited to high-temperature environments such as chemical processing equipment, pumps, and valves.
In addition to its excellent tensile strength and corrosion resistance, it also displays no ductile-brittle transition. It is highly machinable, allowing for a variety of fabrication processes, including welding. The high strength and toughness of the Super Duplex UNS S32760 plate and sheet make it ideal for marine applications. In contrast, many alloys oxidize in salty water, but Super Duplex UNS S32760 sheets are highly resistant to both acids and non-oxidizing solutions.
