One good thing about Silhouette is that it’s not web based. Hence, you can download and install it on your system even if the internet connection isn’t available.

The Cameo 4 can cut materials up to 12 inches wide using a cutting mat. However, with some other materials, it can cut up to 10 feet long. How To Use A Silhouette Cameo 4?
This machine can cut materials up to 12″ in width, and its pro version can cut materials up to 24″ in width. Also, the Cameo 4 has Bluetooth connectivity. Hence, you can connect it wirelessly to your system. This feature is useful when your machine and system are apart from each other. You can also connect them via a USB cord.
To use your Cameo 4, you need to place your material on the cutting mat aligned with the grid. Then, insert the cutting mat into the Silhouette Cameo machine by pushing it under the white rollers. After that, press the load button, an arrow-like button on the right side of the machine. Then, the machine will pull up the cutting mat.
Now, on the Silhouette software, set up your files and make sure that lines are ready to cut. Then, select the material from the dropdown menu. During this, the blade settings will be updated automatically. The Silhouette Cameo 4 also uses an auto blade which means you only need to insert the auto blade in the left-hand carriage, and then it will adjust the blade depth depending on the settings from the dropdown menu.
When you take a test cut, the Silhouette machine will cut a small triangle in the upper left corner of the material. When the design is ready to cut, press sends at the bottom, and the cutting will start. Always remember to take a test cut by clicking the test button.
Then, you need to check the depth of this cut. If the depth is not as expected, go to the Silhouette Studio and adjust the blade settings manually. When your design has cut properly, press the unload button on the machine to unload your mat.
