Unboxing
Open the box and take out your machine. The steps aren’t complicated, and you can easily perform them. Here’s what you will get in the box.
- Cameo 4 machine.
- A power cord needs to be attached to your Cameo machine.
- A USB cord. You can connect it if you don’t want to use a wireless connection.
- Cameo 4 Auto Blade: They auto-adjust the depth of the blade according to the material you selected in the Silhouette Studio. Hence, you don’t need to adjust the blades manually.
- Ratchet tool: This tool helps you manually adjust the blade depth of the ratchet cutting blade and auto blade.
- Cameo 4 tool adapters: This tool helps you use the older Silhouette machine’s older models in your Cameo 4.
- A 12 X 12 cutting mat.
Prepare Your Cameo 4
The Silhouette Cameo machine is covered with various pieces of tape and foam to protect the box during shipping. After unboxing, you have to remove that extra packaging.
The box contains 4 pieces of tape and 3 pieces of foam that must be removed.
- Two pieces of tape are on the front of the machine and can be removed easily.
- Then you will find two pieces on the carriage after opening the lid. One is small and connected horizontally that can be removed easily. While the other is connected to the blade holder and goes up to the back of the machine. It is a little difficult to remove as it sticks back when you pull it through the lid.
- Lastly, remove the three pieces of foam. One is between the side of the machine and the carriage, and the other two are underneath the carriage. You need to push the carriage using your fingers to move it gently and easily take out the foam pieces.
Plug In Your Machine
Well, this step is pretty simple. Still, I will give you the full steps to plug it in. you got three different cords to set up your machine. A data cord connects the computer and the Cameo machine, and the power cords will connect to attach the machine to a power outlet.
Follow the steps below
- First, connect the two parts of the power cord together. It may take a little effort to push it the first time.
- Then, connect the small side of the power cord to the machine and another side to the outlet.
- Now, connect the data cord to your Cameo machine. The square-looking side will connect to the machine, and the standard USB side will connect to an open USB port on your computer.
Power On The Silhouette Cameo 4
When you are fully ready and have plugged in all cables, turn it on and move to set up the machine. See the steps below.
- Once you turn on your machine, you will see a power button where you plugged in the cords.
- Then, the Setup menu will prompt a few things.
- Select the language when asked.
- You can also enable the help icons if you want. You can turn them off if you change your mind later.
- The on-screen setup also provides you with a brief tutorial. If you select Yes to view the tutorial, it will take you through some features and functions. If you select NO, it will take you to complete the setup.
