I'd like to mix cement in the sands of time
And stop it dead in its tracks
Time's going too fast and I can't keep up
I need to get some of it back
I want to enjoy all the days I've had joy
And relive all the days I've had sorrow
I want to experience my memories again
Because today will be gone by tomorrow
"It seems like just yesterday", it's such a cliche
But we all know how truthful it is
We've all had the feeling that just yesterday
Was a day we were playing as kids
A year seems to pass with each tick of the clock
A hundred fly by before noon
What seems like forever is not far away
You'll see. It will be here soon
Memories fade and mementos get lost
And time just keeps flying by
The future and history are one in the same
They're both passing moments of time
The blink of an eye or the snap of your finger
Can measure an eternity
Time's not gonna stop and it's not gonna slow
And this is a certainty
But I'd like to mix cement in the sands of time
And stop it dead in its tracks
