Reacting is instinctual but responding is a conscious choice. Kathy Ward talks about mindfulness-based stress reduction, training developed by Professor Jon Kabat-Zinn. Learning how to redirect our attention to the present moment with kindness can reduce our suffering. Kathy Ward is a British International Mindfulness Teacher and Trainer, Founder and CEO of Mindful Academy International. Her studies at the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, School of Psychology, Bangor University led her to train over 400 teachers in the mindfulness and yoga field worldwide. “When we are living in the present moment, we are more likely to be kind to ourselves” said Kathy, who is training and teaching now on the Mediterranean coast in Spain and Internationally. A Member of the UK Network of Mindfulness Teachers, Kathy’s mission is to bring kindness around the world through her teaching. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
