Stainless Steel 304 Flanges
A flange is a type of pipe fitting that can also be referred to as an instrument. Flanges are used to connect two pipes, valves, and pumps, among other things. The use of flanges allows for a simple inspection, modification, and cleaning of pipes or other connection mechanisms. Flanges are typically welded or screwed together. It is mostly bolted together with a gasket in between to properly seal off a joint. Flanges are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. Massive flanges can be found only in industries and plants.
Flanges made of Stainless Steel 304 are in high demand around the world. A flange must remain tight once attached, which is where the strength of Stainless Steel 304 comes in. Because it produces a strong flange, stainless steel is an excellent material. The best flange material is stainless steel 304, which is highly resistant to corrosion and pitting under any conditions.
Different types of flanges
· Welding-neck Flange- Welding neck flange has a protruded center, a bore in the middle, and holes all around. It is typically welded around the pipe to form a stronger union. The bore would have the same diameter as the pipe.
· Threaded Flange- A Threaded flange is a flange that is very easy to attach. As the name implies, this flange has threads inside the bore, eliminating the need for welding. This type of flange is commonly used due to its ease of installation on a pipe or valve.
· Slip-on Flange- Stainless Steel 304 Slip-on Flanges is essentially a ring that fits over the end of a pipe. The pipe has a small raised center that is welded to it. Slip-on Flanges have a lower fabric taken toll than weld neck spines and are easier to align. This flange is available in two sizes: small and large.
· Lap Joint Flange- Lap Joint Flange is a two-part flange that consists of a simple ring flange and a stub end. The stub end is welded into the pipe after passing through the flange, allowing the ring flange to be rotated as needed.
· Blind Flange- Blind Flange is a solid circle with small bolt holes on the brink. This flange is commonly used to seal or block off a pipe end. On the pipe, it is either bolted or welded.
· Socket Weld Flange- The Socket Weld Flange, which is similar to a slip-on, is widely used. The pipe is inserted into the socket before being welded in this case. For high-pressure applications, a socket weld flange is used.
· Long Neck Flange- It's a lot like a welding neck flange. A long neck flange's bore is elongated to a certain length but is longer than a welding neck flange's bore. The pipe is welded to the elongated bore.
Uses and Applications of Stainless Steel 304 Flanges
Flanges made from SS 304 grades are widely used for a variety of applications, including offshore oil drilling companies, power generation, petrochemical and gas processing industries, condensers, the pulp and paper industry, the chemical industry, and so on.
