Counting the lies/ "You're a dime"

I'm counting all the lies
Here are just a few
The biggest of them all?
Maybe, "I love you"
"Hey, I like your hair"
Maybe that much was true
His words were so opaque
Though I tried to see through
"Can I get your number?"
I know what he intends
But, "It's 2017,
"You can't have friends?"
"You're a dime" he says
And my heart was a flutter
Too flattered to realize
His words were just butter
So I let his hands feast on my body
He finds naivety in my eyes
This guy turns me into putty
With one single, simple lie
My heart was craving love
Which made it easy to slither in
I was the perfect kind of prey
For a wily viper like him
He won and we both knew it
Yet I chose to close my eyes
I liked the way it felt to play
In his little game of lies
"I'll be back in two weeks"
His last transparent delusion
But even with rose colored glasses
I'm now immune to all illusion
Finally accepting what his true colors were
They left a painful impression
But once I see things the way they are
I don't soon forget the lesson
