Love is not an emotion, or if it is it is simply way more than that.
Love is a promise.
It is devotion to your art, to your work, to a person.
Love is a thousand lifetimes of humility, of caring without regard to the cost. Love is faith walking up a stare case that no one can see.
Love is an eternal patience that accepts the best of you and the worst of you. If love were a pokemon hunter it catches you when least expect it every time.
And when it chooses you for battle against something you feel your not ready for it will always be on the sidelines cheering you on, showing you that its always there and that it will never leave you.
Love does not reside the entirety of its being into someone you choose to invest your time and devotion to. People often try to put so much of there love and affection into one person or thing, but when that person or thing is gone you're convinced that love left with them.
Love however is never absent. For you see it is the second living heart that beats of its own accord in your chest. It keeps timing with the first heart made of flesh but with every thrumming beat comes a song. A song that can be heard if you for once take your time in silence and listen. Listen to it.
It is faint at first. As we grow older we become even harder and harder of hearing its music. Why do you think babies can laugh and smile for no reason at all. Its because they know love with everything they see and feel. Just listen to their laugh or look at their smile, and you will see that they know of loves joyful harmony better than anyone.
Some people don't want to take the plunge, a leap of faith, when it comes to love.
They do this for many reasons. They could be bitter, they could be afraid.
Some believe that to love is to destroy, but that is not true. To love is to risk destruction. Nothing would be worth loving if there were not a risk to it.
In fact, we need to love the same way a shark swims. For a shark not to drown it needs constant uninterrupted movement. We need to love like that. Love or die.
