Welcome to onlinenakshatra Podcast. Today, we will discuss Karwa Chauth, a special festival celebrated by married Hindu women in India. This day falls on the fourth day after the full moon in the month of Kartik, usually in October or November.
On Karwa Chauth, women observe a fast from sunrise to moonrise for the well-being and long life of their husbands. They begin the day with a pre-dawn meal called "Sargi," prepared by their mothers-in-law. Throughout the day, they refrain from eating or drinking and often engage in prayers and rituals.
As the day ends, women gather to perform a puja, worshipping the moon and seeking its blessings. When the moon rises, they break their fast by looking at the moon through a sieve and then at their husbands. This beautiful tradition symbolizes love, devotion, and the strong bond between couples.
Karwa Chauth is not just about fasting; it’s a celebration of marital love and unity. Thank you for joining today’s episode of the onlinenakshatra Podcast!
