Hydrodynamic Fine Bubble Diffusers Aeration for Wastewater Treatment.
The Gasion hydrodynamic mixers are constructed of engineering plastics and can be used as high-volume air diffusers. Compressed air enters at the bottom of the diffuser assembly through an ejector device creating a vacuum that draws in a large amount of water through the aerator body. The water and air mixture gets mixed thoroughly in a vane-type arrangement and then the air is fractured into microbubbles in a set of mushroom-type bubble breaker devices which forcibly dissolves oxygen into the water. Circulating flows are formed by powerful upward air flows that evenly churn the entire tank resulting in high agitation and oxygen transfer. The volume of activated sludge sucked into the aerator is about 1.3 times that of the air supplied because of the strong negative pressure created in the ejector assembly. The air discharge opening is about 30mm and so operated without any clogging issues even in liquid with large particles.
Gasion hydrodynamic aerators produce millions of bubbles in micron sizes which have a much larger surface area, compared to millimetre bubbles of diffused aerators. The size is so minute that it cannot travel up to the surface in a straight path. The very low buoyancy of the microbubbles creates a zig-zag path of bubbles moving horizontally more than the vertical distance. This increases the residence time of these bubbles in liquid drastically. The figure illustrates and compares the air bubble size and rising phenomenon of millimetre and micron-sized bubbles. It could be noted that millimetre-sized bubbles travel up and burst outside on the surface. But the Gasion micron-sized bubbles burst inside the liquid itself as it takes much longer before it reaches the top. This bubble burst in liquid accounts for the very high OTR of the Gasion Aerators.
Multiple Precision Parts Make An Efficient Aerator Assembly
Gasion hydrodynamic aerators are constructed of multiple injected moulded parts assembled to form a high-performance aerator. Each of the parts is carefully designed connected aligned to provide a durable structure which should last many years. Supplied as a unit which can be readily used in the aeration tanks.
