What are we doing here? (part 1)
It seems to me that our
reality has been orchestrated.
This can be seen in the self-centred,
classist society we’ve created.
There are people dying everyday
in every way
yet our news feeds focus on the
latest hollywood blunder,
most of us don’t even wonder
about the lives that have been lost
when governments lie,
when thousands of people
have been left to die-
we’re all consumers at the top of the chain
yet seldom do we question why.
Could we not get by
if we all said goodbye
to social media and expensive items?
Or is it more about the comfort they bring
when our consciousness desires them?
As a group mentality,
what other people have is what inspires them,
all marching in form
to a destination that’ll conspire with them,
all following the rules of the system
untill the system tires of them,
and then systematically reprises them,
scooping up their ashy remains
for us to confide in them…
It’s funny. In an ironic way.
What I’m trying to say is that
it doesn’t have to be this way
and we’re all affected in our day-to-day
but it’s the way it is.
I just want to see things the way they are
and question everything
in this formidable quiz
until life presents as is,
plain and simple so I can see
where I fit in,
like the universe intended
when it decided to begin.
