Because of his incredible abilities as a baby, Dragon Ball Z Broly was taken to a world where people could live, as we saw in Dragon Ball Super. Following that, he and his father harbor animosity toward Vegeta because of the things Vegeta's father did to them. This movie was almost certainly one of the greatest animated films ever made.
