I remember when I brought my bundle of joy home. She was 7 lbs and she was beautiful. Those nights of holding my new baby in my arms. I wanted to protect her from the world. My daughter grew older and then she started elementary school. That was a transition on its own. I became accustomed to getting lunch ready and making sure she had clean clothes for school. Those sweet memories of her playing outside or brushing her dolls hair.
Fast forward a few ten years she has become an intelligent woman. Sending her to college is one of the proudest moments for me. Oh I am still needed financially and for moral support, but it isn't the same. She has become an adult and now I convinced she will make the right choices. Although I miss those times, I sit back and realize I will always be her mother. I will always love her and deep in my heart I know she is a better person because of my love.
My baby bird has flown out of the nest and I could not be prouder.
