I would try and sit this person down and say, "What have I done or said to hurt you?" That way you are putting it out there, and putting the emphasis on you not him/her. Instead of acting all accusatory, you are offering to put the blame on yourself. Of course, this could have nothing to do with you. She could be pulling away because something has changed in her life. That is often the reason friendships deteriorate. Whatever you do, don't try to get close to her again. You can't do it, and it makes you look desperate. Instead, send a text every six months or so just "checking in." Don't ask a question, so she doesn't feel like she has to answer. Just say something like, "Just checking in to see how you are." That's all. Because it could be that six months, one year, two years down the road, she realizes she has lost something valuable...someone who really has her back.
