Intro:
Harsh words are like bullets; no matter what, they can still leave a painful injury. And sometimes, a "sorry" is not enough to heal the wounds you leave. She’s fed up with not being good enough. She’s fed up with being made to feel ugly. Fed up with feeling unwanted. Let me take a second to remind everyone she is not an object. Rather, she is a person who cares, has feelings, and has a heart. Tired of being made to feel like an idiot on how she acts, feels, or when she says anything. So she is keeping her mouth shut, feelings to herself, & staying alone. Better that way, according to her.
Verse 1:
A woman crying silently is a woman in the worst emotional pain imaginable. Even though she may seem okay, the truth is she has so many thoughts and so many tears running down her face. And you're too busy to just give her a hug. Even when your tears have dried, your heart still bleeds. It's the wounds that you can't see, the ones inside that take the longest to heal. She is feeling like she has the whole world on her shoulders like no one notices the things she does like no one cares what she is going through and no one sees her pain. But the thing is, I see her pain, I see her tears hidden behind her eyes and I’m picking up my sword and shield and I'm going to the front lines. She says she's fine, but she's going insane. She says she feels good, but she's in a lot of pain.
Verse 2:
She says it's nothing, but really it's a lot. There’s always a little truth behind every JK: a little knowledge behind every IDK, a little emotion behind every IDC, and a little pain behind every IT'S OKAY. The rain falls because the cloud can no longer handle the weight. The tears fall because the heart can no longer handle the pain. Just because you can't see the tears, just because you can't feel the pain, doesn't mean she's okay. She's just too strong to show how vulnerable you made her. Time does heal all wounds. However, wounds fade into scars, becoming less visible but the scar remains as a reminder of the pain. Emotional pain is the worst because physical pain can heal, but emotional pain will forever be there. Sometimes she goes to bed wondering how many people would honestly miss her if she just disappeared one day.
Verse 3:
We keep walls up to keep things in our lives hidden. Only true friends take a chance on climbing those walls and succeed by making it to the other side. Sometimes...we just remain silent & we hide what we deeply feel inside just for the sake of protecting who we love from being hurt. A laugh can hide the tears, a smile can hide the pain, but NOTHING can hide what you feel insid. You'd be amazed at what hides behind her eyes. You don't know her, you never have, and you never will. So don't pretend you understand why she is the way that she is. Look into her eyes, not at her smile. A mouth can lie, eyes cannot. She says she's fine, but she's lying. That smile is fake, she's crying. That laugh is not real, she's dying. She may be laughing. She may be smiling. She may look happy and act it. But really, she's not. You just don't care enough to realize, you broke her heart. It's easier to fake a smile than to explain the pain behind not having one. She’s tired of looking in the mirror and seeing a reflection full of pain and tears. However, little does she know that when I face her I’m looking at goodness and a godsend?
