Falling Satellites & Space Debris

as l gaze up
into this ashtray
full of memories...
seized within a grip of blunder
through a maze of hope
did l aimless wonder
have l begun to finish
what I've yet to start
can a mend be purchased
with a fallow heart
if the time I've wasted
sat still in a chair
like a motherless child
bereft of a tear
would darkness fill me
with the love l have lost
or will l be saved by her smile
and if so, at what cost
when we came together
we were blown apart
like cosmic dust on a canvas
widowed by art
still we hover, cover
and orbit each other
with a semblance of love
a sister and brother
lovers just once
forever we'll be
like falling satellites
and space debris...
